Foundations & Slabs

The strength and stability of a building rests upon its foundation and slab, making construction of these components a crucial part of any project. The foundation serves as the vital interface between the structure and the ground, bearing the load of the entire building and transferring it safely to the earth. Concrete trucks can’t access entire slabs or foundations, so concrete pumps are the go-to solution for residential contractors. Boom pumps stand out as the top choice for expansive foundations and slabs due to their precision, extended reach, and efficiency, making the pouring process simple for our crews.

Footings

A strong foundation begins with expertly installed footings. Footings are designed to distribute the load of the building evenly and resist movement of the soil, creating a robust foundation that can withstand various environmental conditions and structural demands. There are several different kinds of footings, each with its own specific applications and is selected based on the building design, soil conditions, and the load it must carry.

Both boom and line pumps are versatile tools for pouring footings, designed to place concrete efficiently and effectively. The choice between them largely depends on the specific site conditions and the amount of concrete required for the pour.

Sidewalks & Driveways

Sidewalks and driveways are the pathways that welcome you home, lead to your front door, and play a significant role in defining the first impressions of your property. They are essential construction elements that offer both functional and aesthetic value. With our precision concrete pumping services, we deliver functionality and provide customers with the right tools for their project. For both sidewalks and driveways, Pump It Up Concrete Connection can place concrete for improved accessibility and enhanced curb appeal.

Retaining Walls

Retaining walls help to manage of soil erosion and the control of water runoff, playing a critical role in maintaining the stability and integrity of a landscape. They function as barriers to resist the lateral force exerted by dirt, rock, and other materials, making them an integral part of any construction or landscaping project where slopes or changes in elevation exist. These walls can be used to carve out terraced gardens, create flat spaces on hilly terrain, and enhance the overall landscape design. For these smaller, more challenging-to-reach jobs, line pumps are an excellent choice to quickly pour retaining walls that will support the surrounding landscape.

A beautiful concrete patio can transform your outdoor spaces. Whether you’re envisioning a quaint space for quiet relaxation or a sprawling area for outdoor entertaining, our team is ready to pour. Patios are typically behind the home, tucked away in corners and under overhangs that make them difficult to reach with standard concrete trucks. At Pump It Up Concrete Connection, we utilize line pumps to efficiently place concrete in areas with limited access. Our commitment to quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction have solidified us as the premier concrete placement partner for residential contractors in Tennessee.

Pools & Decks

Pools and decks can be the centerpiece of outdoor living, offering a perfect marriage of leisure, recreation, and aesthetic appeal. These projects can create complex situations, especially in confined places like a back yard with restricted access. Concrete pumping is an invaluable practice for constructing pools and decks, enabling us to provide precise and efficient concrete placement without the mess and limited range of bulky concrete trucks.

Garages

A garage provides a secure and robust shelter for vehicles, tools, and equipment. It guards your possessions against external elements, potential damage, and theft. However, the strength of a garage lies in its foundation – the slab. Concrete pumping is an efficient method for garage floors, ensuring a precise pour without the complications from traditional methods. Since most garages are located within or near existing structures, we utilize line pumps for flexibility and ease of operation within these confined spaces.

Shotcrete

Crane next to Rock pile

Shotcrete is a specialized method of applying concrete or mortar that is projected or “shot” at high velocity onto a surface. This method is particularly useful for constructing complex shapes and vertical or overhead surfaces where traditional concrete applications would be challenging. There are two main types of shotcrete – “dry mix” and “wet mix”. We generally use the wet mix method in which all components are mixed before being pumped through the hose for a more consistent mixture. A line pump, in conjunction with a 2” hose and shotcrete nozzle, is required for these types of installations.

Block Fill

Crane next to Rock pile

Block fill is a construction technique that involves filling hollow concrete blocks or masonry units with a liquid, cement-based material. By filling these hollow spaces, we reinforce structural stability, ensuring it can withstand various stressors and extreme loads. This technique increases insulation properties, providing an effective barrier against temperature fluctuations and aiding in energy efficiency.

Line pumps are ideal for block-fill construction. While any of our line pumps can handle this, smaller and more manageable setups are equally effective. For challenging terrains or large fills, a boom can be used for extended reach. Although boom pumps simplify hose management, they offer less precision in controlling the concrete volume that can lead to slightly more waste.
